OpenTalent Premium members and recruiters can now get access to connect with candidates from our community of over 40,000 professionals. Messaging is a great way to build connections - but to keep the experience respectful and valuable for everyone, we’ve set some simple guidelines.

Not following these may result in temporary time-outs or, in some cases, loss of messaging privileges. Thank you for helping us keep OpenTalent a positive space!

✅ Please follow these best practices:

  1. Be respectful – Treat everyone with kindness. No offensive, derogatory, or personal attacks.
  2. Avoid spamming – Don’t send repeated or irrelevant messages. Keep outreach meaningful.
  3. Stay professional – This is a professional community, so maintain a courteous tone.
  4. Respect privacy – Never share another member’s contact details without their permission.
  5. Stay on topic – Keep messages relevant to the conversation or opportunity.
  6. Be clear and concise – Make your point easy to understand; avoid jargon-heavy messages.
  7. Use a polite tone – Avoid all caps, excessive exclamation marks, or anything that feels aggressive.
  8. Report issues – If you see harassment, spam, or inappropriate behavior, please report it.

We’re also introducing a flagging mechanism: if members are flagged repeatedly for violating these guidelines, messaging access may be revoked.

👉 For now, please escalate any messaging-related issues or reporting to [email protected].
